Our beginnings

It started
with a challenge.

During lockdown, cooking videos turned into family experiments. My wife challenged me to stop watching and make something for everyone to eat. Some attempts failed; the best ones brought us together.

Shared with neighbours

We passed along dishes that turned out well and listened to what people thought.

The first order

A neighbour asked us to cook chicken karahi for guests. They insisted on paying, and word spread from there.

A family kitchen grows

My wife took the lead in the kitchen while I helped bring her what she needed. Together, we kept experimenting.

A new idea, just before Ramzan

The frozen
menu was born.

A customer asked if we had anything ready in the freezer. That question became samosas, rolls, and a way for families to enjoy Rumi’s Kitchen at home when they wanted.

Behind the name

Named after
our daughter.

When it was time to put a name on our first frozen menu, we chose Rumi. She was only a year and a half old then. Today, she is proud that the kitchen carries her name.
